Toothpaste Research Community

This community is part of a college research project being conducted by beginning. The results with be used in a research paper about toothpaste, its common ingredients, and what makes each person select their preferred brand.

Please read all of the following information before joining or posting.

You can use this community to discuss toothpaste in general, but please post at least once providing the following information:

• What is the name of your toothpaste (please include brand)?
• What is the name of the company that produces it?
• What are the listed active and inactive ingredients?
• Where do you buy it (name of store/URL of website/name of catalog company, please)?
• How much do you pay for it?
• What size tube do you usually get?
• How often do you buy a new tube?
• Which country do you live in?
• Do you reapply when brushing?
• Why do you pick that brand?
• Is there anything else you'd like to say about your toothpaste?

Please post your responses as new entries, not as comments to existing ones.

Note: For the inactive ingredients, you will almost certainly need to have the box handy. In the United States and most other countries, companies are not required to list the inactive ingredients on the tube itself. If you do not have the box handy, please conduct a quick search on-line to find a list of all ingredients, active and inactive, to post here. If you absolutely can't provide them, that's okay, but it's really appreciated if you can.

Additionally, if you're buying your toothpaste for health, religious, dietary, and/or socially-conscious reasons, please say so. This is extremely important.

Because I anticipate that this community will gather a large number of responses, you may not want to add it to your Friends list. If you don't want to watch it, or you withdraw your membership immediately after posting your response, that's perfectly fine, and I thank you for your participation. You can also post to this community without joining it by clicking here. (You will need to be logged in to do so.)

Although it's not required, I would really appreciate it if you would link to this community from your own journal, in relevant communities (NO COMMUNITY PROMO SPAM), in e-mails, or what have you. Information on how to make a toothpastes link can be found here; info on general text links can be found here.

If you have any questions, please feel free to contact beginning using her @LiveJournal.com e-mail address. Thank you to everyone who helps out with this research.
